I discovered that learning to play Bridge was like learning a new language.

My first card playing experience was playing Gin Rummy with my grandmother when I was around 6 years old, and so began my card "sense".
But, the closest thing to playing bridge was learning to play Hearts as a teenager. Little did I know how much more there was to it, to play bridge.
Later, much later, a group of my tennis friends decided to learn how to play bridge. We found a teacher willing to come up to Westchester and teach us the basics. And so it began.
I fell in love with the game immediately. Some of us continued and decided to play Duplicate and take more lessons at Bridge Clubs. Our group of ladies played on a regular basis and began accumulating colored points at various Sectionals and Regionals.
I discovered that learning to play Bridge was like learning a new language. A language with many "accents" and "dialects". It's a life long learning experience which I am looking forward to sharing with my grandchildren. I'm hoping that they will start younger than I did, and have a lifetime of enjoyment playing Bridge. I play War with my grandson and just love the look on his face when he wins a "trick". So, full circle, from my grandmother, to me being a grandmother, and sharing my love of the game.
