Hello: Thank you for your e mail. I attended the Bridge tournament in November/December 2024 in Las Vegas and earned a couple 'red' points and then I earned a silver point on BBO to move to 'silver' level'. A few years ago I attended a Bridge Tournament in Cleveland and played in a team game with a young man from Cleveland whose regular partner was ill and could not come to the tournament. Our team came in first and we earned 12 gold points that brought me very close to 'life master' Shortly thereafter I earned enough points to move to 'life master'
My partner said his regular partner would probably be 'upset' when he found out our team came in first. I doubt his partner was upset since my partner was absolutely lovely and I enjoyed playing on his team.
Warren Buffet plays on BBO from time to time and I send him a chat message occasionally and recently asked if he was going to be in Las Vegas and if we could be partners. No response. BUT I did meet James from Jeopardy when I was at the Las Vegas Tournament. He ran a Jeopardy game for the bridge players which was fun. I asked James if he would be my bridge partner on BBO sometime but he hemmed and hawed
And I have not played with him. I gave him my 'screen name' so 'fingers crossed' maybe one day we can be partners.
The people who ran the Las Vegas tournament were very helpful to me in booking a room and finding bridge partners. In addition to a lot of bridge I did go on 3 tours, 1 to Zion National Park, Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire. They were absolutely fabulous and I was glad I had the chance to see them. I saw Barry Manilow and an Elvis imperator. Both were great. And I spent a lot of time at the Bellagio especially the Sunday buffet.
I have some great bridge partners on BBO and I am happy I can play bridge on that site. I especially enjoy playing with the great Canadian players and I enjoy the Saturday night Colorado game.
I read the Bridge Magazine religiously and pick up a lot of Bridge Tips.
ACBL does a great job and look forward to many more bridge games.
