New NABC Master would like to see more Regionals online.

Thank you for the notification.

I played a lot of rubber bridge, very competitively in the 60s and early 70s. Also a lot of duplicate, but never bothered to send in the points accumulated. Getting married and raising a family drew me away from the game from some 35 years. In 2008, my wife saw an ad for bridge lessons close by. She suggested that I try it out. Found that I still possessed the skills I had "back in the day." Took to joining the ACBL for a second time and since the clubs sent in the points, no need to mail in anything. Until the Pandemic hit, I played pretty much once a week, mostly evenings with an occasional Sectional or a NJ–based Regional, accumulating some 220 MPs and Regional Master status. The Pandemic opened the availability of the red and gold points; and I was able to participate more often.

Making more Sectional and Regional Tournaments available online will help and make the more difficult points easier to accumulate. When playing face to face, there are regionals and sectionals available almost daily if one can afford the travel. On line, they are available only a few days in specific months. Expanding them will help.
