During the current school year the Oakwood Avenue School and Park Avenue School Bridge Clubs have conducted fundraising activities such as candy and pizza sales, dress down days and collaborating with parents and members of the community. We have identified 10 students from Oakwood Avenue and 10 from Park to journey to Toronto for this competition.
Trustee Terry Zuckerman, of the Ralph W. Errington Charitable Estate, today made a generous donation of $10,000 to the Orange Education Foundation for the bridge program for the express purpose of deferring some of the costs of transportation, and room and board for these kids.
There are no words to express the gratitude of our bridge coordinators, kids, parents and the Orange School District for the funding which will help us to reach our fundraising goals for this worthwhile opportunity for the kids. It provides relief from the tremendous burden and hard work needed to raise the amount of money required to participate in the youth tournament and other cultural activities associated with travel to Toronto.
Mr. Zuckerman wished us much success, not necessarily winning trophies, but having this extraordinary, incredible experience that will be beneficial for a lifetime. Our trip will include a visit to Niagara Falls, the Science Museum, Thousand Island National Park and sightseeing.
Many thanks to Mr. Zuckerman and the Ralph W. Errington Charitable Estate for the continued support and commitment to the bridge program in Orange. This magnanimous, incredible donation is appreciated beyond imagination.
